So I have been putting in a considerable amount of time and effort in running this year. For the most part, I have been getting in early morning runs and I did some statistics on it. In the last month, I put in 60 miles in the last month where the average run distance was about 6~ miles.
Well today I found it has been paying off. The 2 mile run I did for the Army physical fitness test ended with a finishing time of 14:20 seconds. While this is fast and I am thrilled to see such progress, I still have some work to get to the point of beat a personal record (PR). For those that are interested, the time to beat is 12:05 or faster. That time was done in ~ 1992. Its possible but it will take a great amount of work.

Very long over due and new hobby
I have been away from posting for quite some time. Things are going well with work and I am busy with the work load. This weekend I had a 8 K (about 5 mile) run in the nearby town of Bonita and I did pretty well with placing around 42:29. Not bad.

Ireland visit (for work)
My work sent me out to Ireland and it was a great experience. I got to work again with a great co-worker, Rob, and met some really great people at the business I visited in the course of my work. (And it was awesome to say that one time I got to visit Dublin, Ireland once in my life.) I had to do an incredible amount of work while on the case and I also got a chance to learn some very interesting about things about the Linux HISTORYTIMEFORMAT variable.

Catalina Island
Got to see Catalina island. I will find a picture soon sometime. Was also surprised to find the 'Casino' that is just a little way from Avalon is not really a casino in the sense I think what casino means. So I was a tiny bit disappointed.

Canada Vist -Toronto and dinner with friend
This past week I got to go up to Toronto to work on a case and I meet up with a friend. Lots of work and lots of conference hours to address the situation. But I got to have a great dinner with my friend and on the day of departure I able to get out and see the RC Tower. I should be able to find some picture sometime in the future....

Long overdue updates ...
First off: I moved down to San Diego, CA this spring and moving into the house has gone well. Its been a busy year. Plenty to do with my work at IBM. Sometime in the midst of moving and work I got took care of the CEH and EnCE certifications out of the say. It helps with a number of the Army certification requirements but in each case, these certification attempts take up a considerable amount of time to prepare for and negotiate.
Last week I did get to see my boss for the first time since he was assigned to our team. I had an opportunity to go into Boulder, CO and work alongside with him and others from the team. We got
more work to do but I am glad I got a chance to meet up and put in some good work.
Still busy this weekend as its drill weekend. I am still working my tail off to get out from underneath a mountain of other work (change of address, tax forms, you name it- its on my TODO list.)

Christmas Parade in town
This weekend we figured it would be great to get out on Friday night and get in the annual Christmas parade. So at about 4:30PM we set out on the road and went into town. Jason had a great time with the event.
Here is where Jason had settled down for the parade and ready to watch the procession of the floats.
